Baltimore Heritage Quilters Guild: Hosts Lilo Bowman's Lecture: Love Where You Create: It's Not a One Size Fits All Solution
The Baltimore Heritage Quilters’ Guild (BHQG) was founded in 1984 by three women who met through the owner of a local quilt shop. They decided to meet in October and present “Baltimore’s History in Quiltmaking” to interested Baltimoreans. Needless to say, they were pleasantly surprised when sixty people attended! The BHQG was born!

Trinity Valley Quilters' Guild: Hosts Lilo Bowman's Lecture: Love Where You Create: It's Not a One Size Fits All Solution
Trinity Valley Quilters' Guild began as an idea hatched in the back room of a shop called The Quilt Box. It was officially started in January of 1982 by a small group of women seated around long tables at the R.D. Evans Recreation Center. From those humble beginnings came a Guild that has grown to include hundreds of men and women.

Burke Quilters Unlimited: Hosts Lilo Bowman's Lecture: Love Where You Create: It's Not a One Size Fits All Solution
Quilters Unlimited in Northern Virginia (“QU”) is composed of 11 chapters consisting of over 1,000 members unified by a central executive board, and governed by the QU Bylaws.
QU was founded in 1972 with the purpose of preserving the tradition, culture and history of quilting, and promoting the knowledge and understanding of the art of quilting through continuing educational services for members and public education activities. Membership is open to any person who is interested in quilting. Visitors are welcome to attend meetings of any chapter. Each of our 11 chapters has its own personality with day or evening meetings, and its own scheduled events, functions, and service projects. Chapters meet at least monthly. All chapters get together for a fall speaker and workshops, the annual meeting and speaker and, of course, our annual Quilt Show.

About
Lilo Bowman has worked as a floral designer, translator, tour guide, wedding planner, and is now editor-in-chief of TheQuiltShow.com. Her work has been varied, often challenging, but always creative. Since early childhood, she has been instilled with the desire for and love of doing something with your hands, learned by observing the varied and beautiful items crafted by both of her grandmothers. Raised in a German culture, Lilo was always keenly aware of and fascinated with objects (whether utilitarian or decorative) that were attractively displayed while still being orderly.
Food, travel (both as a military wife and tourist), and curiosity about other cultures have also played a large role in shaping Lilo’s sense of taste and design and her understanding of how others prioritize the items they choose to have in their homes. Being surrounded by strong, independent, and civic-minded female role models has instilled a sense of “you can do this” and “consider others” along the way.
When not working, Lilo travels, gardens, works
on DIY projects with a ragtag bunch of rescue pets nearby, and spends time with her extended, loud, noisy, always food- and travel-talking family.
