      • Lilo Bowman, Author, Lecturer

        Hello!

      • Learn About My Lectures

      • Book A Lecture

If you are a guild chair looking for lectures, I would love to work with you! I'm also happy to customize a lecture to suit your needs.

        • Lectures are 1 hour (combined with power point slides) filled with tips, tricks and images in real studio situations.
        • At this time all lectures are conducted on the Zoom platform, in real time.
        • Audience size is limited to guild members.
        • Members can ask questions through the guild moderator, that I will be happy to answer at the end of the lecture.
        Lecture Topics:

Love Where You Create: It's Not A One Size Fits Solution
Are you overwhelmed by all the stuff that seems to be taking over but don’t know how to bring back order? If your current situation isn’t functioning--- it might be time to hit the refresh button. Learn how to build a creative place that works for you, your space, your budget and where you are right now.

Adapting For Change & Long-Term Planning: Learning To Adapt To The Changes In Your Life

Change doesn't mean creativity has to come to a screeching halt. Whether it’s due to an unexpected accident, downsizing or bodily changes, learn how to modify a space with easy and clever workarounds to keep the playing going for years to come.

On The Go: Build A Studio That Moves With You

When life involves frequent moves across the country or across the world, keeping and maintaining a creative space can be a challenge for any maker. Learn tips for building a system to make your studio more mobile and easy to set-up while also including your personal style.

Quilting Machines: Creating Fun For All On The Playground
Is that quilting machine and all its ‘gear’ taking over your playground space? Batting, rulers, pantographs and cone thread collections can very quickly become overwhelming and get out of hand. Learn how to build a system that corrals the one who ‘wants to take over’ and ensures enough space for everyone at the playground to get along.

        Dual Studios: Twice The Fun

Congratulations, you're setting up a second studio in another location! Now onto the hard part: deciding what to bring and how to organize this new space. Whether it's another home, a cabin in the woods or something in between, learn to build a place that you will love equally as much as your primary studio.

        Small Spaces: Tiny Studios

Don't let the small size of your space keep you from having hours of fun; it's about learning how to prioritize. Let me show you some creative ways to utilize every square inch of your playground.

      • Online Workshop

Starting later in 2022, I will be offering Jump Start Your Organizing, an online 2-day group workshop, designed to help a small number of individuals get a running start to organizing in their own personal space.

Students will learn how to overcome the challenge of how and where to start with mini-presentations -- designated time to work on their own -- Q & A -- group sharing sessions -- and learn the skills that will help them going forward to a more organized and better functioning space.

Lilo's workshops are for you if you answer yes to these questions:

        • Are you unhappy in your studio space because there isn't room to work?
        • Do you feel overwhelmed by the number of things taking over your workspace?
        • Do you want to bring order to your studio but don't know where or how to start?
        • Are you ready to make a change and breathe new life into your studio space?
        • Would you like to develop the skills to keep order in your space but find it difficult on your own?
Workshops are given on two consecutive days, with a 3-hour session on each.

The cost of the workshop is $250 per person.

This will be a small group of 4 to 5 individuals, which will allow Lilo to give dedicated and personalized attention to each.

If you are interested in the online workshop, please fill in the form below and Lilo will get back to you with the details.

      • About

Lilo Bowman has worked as a floral designer, translator, tour guide, wedding planner, and is now editor-in-chief of TheQuiltShow.com. Her work has been varied, often challenging, but always creative. Since early childhood, she has been instilled with the desire for and love of doing something with your hands, learned by observing the varied and beautiful items crafted by both of her grandmothers. Raised in a German culture, Lilo was always keenly aware of and fascinated with objects (whether utilitarian or decorative) that were attractively displayed while still being orderly.

Food, travel (both as a military wife and tourist), and curiosity about other cultures have also played a large role in shaping Lilo’s sense of taste and design and her understanding of how others prioritize the items they choose to have in their homes. Being surrounded by strong, independent, and civic-minded female role models has instilled a sense of “you can do this” and “consider others” along the way.

When not working, Lilo travels, gardens, works

on DIY projects with a ragtag bunch of rescue pets nearby, and spends time with her extended, loud, noisy, always food- and travel-talking family.
