About
Lilo Bowman is a lecturer, author of Love Your Creative Space, and co-host of Material Chronicles, a textile travel-and-history docuseries for textile enthusiasts. She speaks and consults internationally, guiding creative makers- both hobbyists and professionals- in developing organizational strategies, studios and systems that align with their working styles, creative goals, and evolving practice.
She currently serves as President of Studio Art Quilt Associates (SAQA), advancing the organization's mission and shaping the future of one of the world's leading art quilt organization. Lilo’s work spans writing on studio organization, curating exhibitions, podcast appearances, as a guest features on The Quilt Show , and judging quilt shows. For 18 years, she led The Quilt Show as Editor-in-Chief and Producer, shaping its creative direction and inspiring a global community of makers.
Raised in Germany and having lived on three continents as a military spouse, Lilo brings a distinctly global perspective shaped by a life on the move. Years of establishing functional, inspiring studios in new places inform her approach to creative organization, alongside her deep interest in travel, history, and material culture. Through her teaching, consulting, and Material Chronicles, she encourages makers to look beyond process to purpose-exploring not only how they create, but why, and the stories carried by the textiles they use every day.
Lilo currently lives in Texas.
