Book A Lecture
If you are a guild chair looking for lectures, I would love to work with you! I'm also happy to customize a lecture to suit your needs.
- Lectures are 1 hour (combined with power point slides) filled with tips, tricks and images in real studio situations.
- At this time all lectures are conducted on the Zoom platform, in real time.
- Audience size is limited to guild members.
- Members can ask questions through the guild moderator, that I will be happy to answer at the end of the lecture.
Lecture Topics:
Love Where You Create: It's Not A One Size Fits Solution
Studios are deeply personal spaces, filled with the things you love and create with. But when everything starts piling up, it can feel overwhelming and hard to know where to begin. If you find yourself spending less time in the studio because it’s no longer supporting the way you work, it may be time for a refresh.Discover howto create a creative space that fits your life right now—your space, your budget, and your needs. Using real artist studios as examples, you’ll learn practical ideas you can apply to build a studio
Adapting For Change & Long-Term Planning: Learning To Adapt To The Changes In Your Life
If you’ve been in your studio space for a long time, it’s easy to overlook the
importance an evolving creative space is your artistic journey. Updating tools
and technology can bring energy and excitement, while changes to the studio
itself may feel intimidating—but they also offer opportunities to rethink and
refresh. Whether moving to a new studio, downsizing, or adapting to a body
that’s changing in unexpected ways, there are ways to keep doing the work you love for years to come.Learn how, with simple and creative problem-solving, it’s possible to
reshape a studio that inspires, supports, and nurtures both creativity and
well-being—no matter the circumstances. On The Go: Build A Studio That Moves With You
When life involves frequent moves across the country or across the world, keeping and maintaining a creative space can be a challenge for any maker. Learn tips for building a system to make your studio more mobile and easy to set-up while also including your personal style.
Quilting Machines: Creating Fun For All On The Playground
Is that quilting machine and all its ‘gear’ taking over your playground space? Batting, rulers, pantographs and cone thread collections can very quickly become overwhelming and get out of hand. Learn how to build a system that corrals the one who ‘wants to take over’ and ensures enough space for everyone at the playground to get along.
Dual Studios: Twice The Fun
Congratulations, you're setting up a second studio in another location! Now onto the hard part: deciding what to bring and how to organize this new space. Whether it's another home, a cabin in the woods or something in between, learn to build a place that you will love equally as much as your primary studio.
Small Spaces: Tiny Studios
Don't let the small size of your space keep you from having hours of fun; it's about learning how to prioritize. Let me show you some creative ways to utilize every square inch of your playground.
Online Workshop
Starting soon, I will be offering Jump Start Your Organizing, an online 2-day group workshop, designed to help a small number of individuals get a running start to organizing in their own personal space.
Students will learn how to overcome the challenge of how and where to start with mini-presentations -- designated time to work on their own -- Q & A -- group sharing sessions -- and learn the skills that will help them going forward to a more organized and better functioning space.
Lilo's workshops are for you if you answer yes to these questions:
- Are you unhappy in your studio space because there isn't room to work?
- Do you feel overwhelmed by the number of things taking over your workspace?
- Do you want to bring order to your studio but don't know where or how to start?
- Are you ready to make a change and breathe new life into your studio space?
- Would you like to develop the skills to keep order in your space but find it difficult on your own?
Workshops are given on two consecutive days, with a 3-hour session on each.
The cost of the workshop is $250 per person.
This will be a small group of 4 to 5 individuals, which will allow Lilo to give dedicated and personalized attention to each.
If you are interested in the online workshop, please fill in the form below and Lilo will get back to you with the details.
